The Jordan Glass Times

New issues will be released whenever I have something to say.

Name:
Location: Sudbury, Ontario, Canada

I am a twenty one year old student currently in my fourth year of a double major in history and political science with a minor in religious studies. I was raised in Thornhill and now now live in the beautiful Northern Ontario city of Sudbury. I am proudly political. Which you will have no problem noticing. You will also find that I am proudly Zionist and proudly Liberal. Of note; my opinions are not reflective of any candidate I may be attached to, nor are they intended to insult or be libelous to any person, place, or thing.

My disappointment in Israel

As this is a new blog, and I have an extremely large ego, I will assume thousands of people are already reading when I say this.

Many know I am fiercely pro-Israel. I consider it my homeland. And as such, I consider the people that live my people as well. But what they did today was wrong. Israel promised a 48 hour cease fire. They should not have broken it.

This will only further the negative view Canadians have of Israel. It is sad, and my heart goes out to those who have lost loved ones today.

Tories lack transparancy

So it seems the Conservative Party -- a government elected in the name of transparancy -- has decided that this is no longer one of their five priorities. It shouldn't surprise anyone. We already know that Mr. Harper picks and chooses which priority he will defend, and which he actually believes each week.

Today the current government has given large increases to a number of high ranking civil servants. The story can be found in today's edition of the Toronto Star.

What I want to know is what is going to happen? It seems to me all parties are now riddled with scandal. A new leader in the Liberal Party should change that. But until than, does this nation even have a credible federal party?

Israel Suspends Aerial Strikes

So here is my first actual post...

As a result of the horrible tragedy in the Southern Lebanese city of Qana that resulted in the death 56 civillians, the Israeli Defense Forces have taken a strong moral stand in agreeing to hold off all aerial attacks for a period of 48 hours.

This is a strong sign of good faith by the Israeli Government to the Lebanese people. It shows that Israel is making every attempt to ensure that peace with Lebanon can be salvaged once the threat of Hezbollah is be removed.

I for one hope this shows Canadian society that Israel's unltimate goal is peace. The war that has resulted is an incredible shame, but Canadians need to remember who the enemy to democracy is. Terrorism.

First Edition!

So here we are folks. I officially have joined the world of bloggers. Now, there will be no calling me a hypocrite. I still believe that the only purpose of a blog is to merely stroke one's own ego. I simply feel its my turn now.
I want to warn everybody that they can expect opinions that have been in the past controversial. I will not half ass this. But to that extent, my posts do not necessarily reflect the opinions of either provincial member who employs me nor the leadership candidate I have chosen to associate myself with. As well, as I am employed by a provincial member, I will not post anything to do with provincial politics until my contract expires in September.
With all that laid out, I wish everyone good reading!
